Bengals’ Tyler Eifert has surgery to remove cyst in knee

Tyler Eifert

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert is currently on injured reserve with a troublesome back injury that has required three surgeries. But that’s not the extent of what’s illing the injury-plagued Pro Bowler.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Eifert just recently had surgery to remove a cyst in his knee.

“Bengals TE Tyler Eifert, already out for the year due to back surgery, had another procedure recently to remove a cyst on his knee,” Graziano reported. “Eifert is working to get healthy, as he is eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of this season.”

This is yet another setback for a talented player that has missed 20 games in his five-year career and only played in two games this season.

It will be interesting to see what type of play Eifert gets in free agency. But he’s likely looking at a one-year, prove-it deal.
