WATCH: Golden Tate makes brilliant play, flips into end zone

Golden Tate

After surrendering a defensive touchdown to the New Orleans Saints, Matthew Stafford, Golden Tate, and the Detroit Lions knew how to respond.

Stafford found Tate on an out route to pick up a first down. But Tate had more in mind. He got free down the sideline, held on to the ball as Rafael Bush was trying to strip it, and did a fancy flip into the end zone for good measure.

It was just a great bit of post-catch playmaking on Tate’s part. The play would have been successful if he had been tackled immediately. But the receiver obviously had other ideas. We have to give him credit for throwing in some style points for good measure, as well.

All in all, just a spectacular play.
