The Tennessee Titans are playing in Week 5 without starting quarterback Marcus Mariota, who is out with a hamstring injury. To that end, Colin Kaepernick reached out through his representation this past week to let the Titans know he’s in football shape, has been practicing six hours per day and is willing to work out at any time, in any place, per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
However, as we know, the Titans said no thanks.
La Canfora, who spent time with Kaepernick on Saturday, conveyed his thoughts on all this in an appearance with NFL on CBS Sunday morning.

La Canfora said he saw practice tape of Kaepernick, who is 100 percent dedicated to playing football and is working tirelessly as he continues to pursue his NFL dream. He also made it clear he’s willing to work out for any team, anywhere to show he’s ready to play right now.

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report confirmed La Canfora’s report, noting the Titans did hear from Kaepernick’s representatives but declined to even have him in for a workout.
Kaepernick told La Canfora that he would like to be able to be judged purely on his ability as a football player. However, to this point no team aside from the Seattle Seahawks this past spring has been willing to even kick the tires on the quarterback who led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl just a few short years ago.
Tennessee will take on the Miami Dolphins Sunday with career journeyman backup Matt Cassel behind center. Recently signed Brandon Weeden, a first-round bust, is Tennessee’s fallback plan if Cassel is either ineffective or injured.
