This will represent Eifert’s third back surgery since 2014, surely putting his once promising career in jeopardy. This means that Eifert will have missed 40 of a possible 64 games since the start of his sophomore campaign when he hits free agency next March.
The former Notre Dame standout has been impressive when he’s actually shown himself to be healthy. Back in 2015, he tallied 13 touchdowns and caught 70 percent of the passes thrown in his direction en route to earning a Pro Bowl nod. Unfortunately, this latest injury could derail his career.
