Packers’ Aaron Rodgers thanks fans after undergoing surgery

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers after beating the Cincinnati Bengals in NFL Week 3

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers underwent surgery Thursday evening to repair a broken collarbone he suffered in last Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Following the surgery, and still in his hospital bed, the former MVP sent a thank you message to Packers fans on Instagram.

“Surgery went well,” Rodgers wrote. “Thanks for all the love, support, thoughts and prayers. #comebackstartsnow #riseagain.”

Rodgers is likely done for the season, but it’s nice to see that surgery itself went well. With the star quarterback out of action, Green Bay will be relying on third-year signal caller Brett Hundley for the remainder of the season.

It’s a less-than-ideal scenario for the team. With that said, at least it seems Rodgers himself is in good spirits.
