Ole Miss posts head coaching opening after being blown out by Auburn

Matt Luke is likely only an interim coach at Ole Miss after this job posting was made online.

Following a blowout 44-23 loss to the Auburn Tigers, Ole Miss decided it made sense to immediately post a job advertisement online. The only real thing that stands out here is that said post is focused on hiring a new head coach to replace Matt Luke, who took over for the disgraced Hugh Freeze on an interim basis.

It’s as brilliant as it is obvious.

“Job description: The Head Football Coach will organize and direct all aspects of the NCAA Division I Football program.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of coaching experience on a highly competitive level.”

This most definitely wasn’t meant to troll a coach in Luke who took over an almost impossible situation for a program that is facing a bowl ban this year as an NCAA investigation continues.

Still, it has to be considered pretty darn funny.

For their part, Mississippi has lost its past three games by a combined score of 137-42. Needless to say, things aren’t going too swimmingly in Oxford. At the very least, anyone with those qualifications can go ahead and apply online. Why not try your luck, guys and gals?
