Notre Dame QB Brandon Wimbush practiced Thursday, will play Saturday

Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush is leading one of the top teams in college football

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will have quarterback Brandon Wimbush on the field Saturday for their road game against North Carolina. The quarterback has been dealing with a foot injury and even was wearing a walking boot after the team’s win over Miami (OH) last weekend.

However, Wimbush was back on the practice field on Thursday and will play on Saturday. Though, head coach Brian Kelly is being coy about whether his quarterback will start.

Hint: Wimbush is going to start.

The dual-threat passer has been heating up lately and needs to keep the good vibes going. After enduring a two-game stretch that saw him throw no touchdowns and one interception and that saw the team split those games, Wimbush has thrown four touchdowns and no interceptions the past two weeks.

So far this season, Wimbush has completed just 51.9 percent of his passes for 783 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions. He’s also added 402 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground and is a major reason why Notre Dame’s offense has taken off of late.

North Carolina’s defense hasn’t scared anyone this year. It has allowed 466 yards and 33 points per game, which is a huge reason Notre Dame is favored to win this game by more than two touchdowns.
