There have been reports that Davante Adams could potentially play one week after suffering a concussion during a nasty hit by Danny Trevathan.
Surprising as it is, one source said today he believes Packers WR Davante Adams could play Sunday vs Dallas. “I think he goes,” source said.

However, Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Wednesday that the receiver is still in the league’s concussion protocol.

That he’s still in the protocol shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who saw the hit that Adams took — a hit that earned Trevathan a one-game suspension following an appeal hearing. After the hit, Adams immediately crumpled to the ground, and it was a matter of minutes before he was being carted off the field and into an ambulance for a trip to the nearest hospital.
Thankfully, an MRI came back negative for any damage to his spinal chord, and the receiver sent a message to all his Twitter followers the next day that he was “at home feeling great.”
At this time it’s up in the air whether Adams will be cleared to play before Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Thankfully it’s not up to him, or his coaches. Team doctors and independent concussion experts have to clear him to play. Whenever he returns, it’ll be good to see the receiver healthy, in uniform. Because when that hit occurred, it sure didn’t look good.
So far on the season, Adams has caught 16 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
