Kevin Durant on Warriors: ‘Swag level is through the roof’

Kevin Durant Draymond Green press conference Game 2 NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors will attempt to defend their NBA title, starting Tuesday against the Houston Rockets. They will be doing so with the team’s confidence apparently at an all-time high.

Fresh off head coach Steve Kerr indicating that Stephen Curry is a more impactful offensive player than Michael Jordan was, the always talkative Kevin Durant had a take of his own.

That’s definitely one way to put it.

Durant himself is coming off an NBA Finals MVP performance against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s narrowed the gap between him and the King in the conversation about who stands tall as the best player on the planet.

For the Warriors’ part, they have won two NBA titles and are coming off three consecutive Western Conference championships to begin the Kerr era on the bench. During that span, Golden State has posted a 207-39 regular season record. Including last year’s playoffs, they’ve also won 31 of their past 33 meaningful games.

Golden State opens up the season at home against a revamped Houston team, led by the star-studded backcourt of James Harden and Chris Paul. That’ll be an interesting first test.
