Dalvin Cook suffers what appears to be serious non-contact knee injury

Is Dalvin Cook ready to lead the Vikings to a big divisional win?

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook left Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions after falling to the ground suddenly during a run.

Cook was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game.

At this point, all that anyone can do is speculate. Still, the reaction of Cook and the Minnesota sideline did not look good.

We won’t know anything until further tests are done. But in addition the reactions of Cook and his teammates, this injury has a few things that nobody wants to see.

First of all, it was a non-contact injury. Generally speaking, those are worse than if someone is hit.

Secondly, it was a non-contact injury on artificial turf, which tends to only make things more serious.

Cook entered Sunday’s game with 288 rushing yards in three games at 4.7 yards per carry. Prior to his injury on Sunday, he had added 66 yards on 13 carries, and his second rushing touchdown of the year.
