Colts’ Andrew Luck suffers setback in return from injury

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s return to some resemblance of practice will now be short-lived. The Colts announced on Wednesday that Luck will be given a cortisone shot in his ailing shoulder and will rest for the remainder of the week.

There’s no timeline for his return.

To be 100 percent clear here, it’s not a minor setback for Luck. He needs to get in multiple days of full practices before the Colts even consider Luck seeing live-game action. The former Pro Bowler underwent surgery on a bum shoulder this past January and his recovery from said surgery has been incredibly slow.

It was noted last week that Luck was making progress in his return. With this setback, there is no timetable for Luck’s return to the field.

With Luck out of action this season, Indianapolis is currently in last place in the AFC South with a 2-4 record. Needless to say, Jacoby Brissett will now be under center for the foreseeable future.

One now has to wonder if Luck will return this season.
