Report: Tyreek Hill avoids fine for peace sign

NFL Week 2 Tyreek Hill Kansas City Chiefs

The NFL has reportedly decided not to fine Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill for flashing the peace sign during his touchdown catch in Week 1.

Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper passed this information along Friday afternoon, noting the gesture should have originally drawn a 15-yard penalty for taunting, per a source. It had previously been reported that Hill could be fined for this gesture.

One player who didn’t escape the NFL’s notice for a two-fingered gesture was Marshawn Lynch. Beast Mode received a $12,000 fine for his inappropriate gesture as the Oakland Raiders played the Tennessee Titans. It’s a move his mom most definitely didn’t appreciate.

So now we have to ask, will Hill start making this his signature move? And if he does it again, will he be penalized and/or fined?

It’s going to be interesting to see what the NFL does and does not see as an offense worth fining this year. Celebrations are back on as the league relaxed its policy this offseason, but as we’ve seen there are some lines you can cross and others you cannot.
