Report: Ty Montgomery injury not severe, could play in Week 5

Ty Montgomery

The Green Bay Packers got some great injury news on running back Ty Montgomery, who was reported to have broken ribs on Thursday night. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Montgomery’s injury is not as severe as the team initially thought. He is reportedly day-to-day and could play in Week 5 when the Packers take on the Dallas Cowboys.

Jamaal Williams was also injured in Thursday night’s game. This meant the Packers were down to third-string running back Aaron Jones, who scored his first NFL touchdown. Montgomery, who has struggled to gain traction this season as Green Bay’s top running back, was having a fine game before he was injured, gaining 28 yards on five carries.

So far this season, the converted wide receiver has rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 46 carries. Montgomery has also caught 18 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown.
