Days before Week 1’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. was reportedly spotted in a dance battle with reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.

“According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Beckham was spotted engaged in a dance battle with NBA MVP Russell Westbrook on Thursday night in the Meatpacking District,” a report from CBS New York said. “It all went down while Wyclef Jean was performing during Catch NYC’s sixth anniversary celebration, the report said.”

That’s certainly not the kind of thing that anyone expects to read. Inquiring minds want to know. Who pulled off the better moves? Beckham or Westbrook?

In all seriousness, this is the kind of thing that could certainly irritate some fans, especially given how bad New York’s offense looked on Sunday. But we have to remember that Beckham was a late scratch. In theory, that means that he was close to being able to play. In an NFL game, your ankle has to absorb not only running around and cutting, but also absorbing hits like the one that sidelined Beckham to begin with.

Granted, Westbrook is known for his competitive nature. But even with that in mind, we can say with certainty that Beckham didn’t have to worry about getting hit low during his dance battle with the NBA MVP.

At the very least, OBJ wasn’t seen hanging out on a boat. That wouldn’t have been good for anyone involved.
