Dolphins suspend Lawrence Timmons ‘indefinitely’

Lawrence Timmons suspended indefinitely by Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have suspended linebacker Lawrence Timmons indefinitely following the veteran going AWOL before Week 2’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to the CBA, the term “indefinitely” isn’t exactly undetermined.

Timmons was reportedly found at the airport on Sunday after the team filed a missing persons report, according to TMZ. He didn’t inform the team that he was leaving for personal reasons until after the fact. Police reportedly found him in the boarding area waiting to take a flight to Pennsylvania to see his baby daughter.

The linebacker said afterwards that he wanted to return and play for the Dolphins. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the team would have Timmons meet with doctors to determine “what is wrong.”

At this point, it’s clear by the term “suspended” that the Dolphins have concluded the event was a behavioral, rather than medical issue.
