New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony took to Twitter on Friday to announce he’s setting up a YouCaring page to aid those suffering in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
I’ve set up a @YouCaring page to aid the relief efforts in Puerto Rico. We need your help in this fight.

Anthony shared that his father hails from Puerto Rico and has family still living there. He said nobody’d been able to communicate since the hurricane roared through the island, and reports coming out of Puerto Rico indicate power may not return for weeks, or even months.
Adding insult to injury, a dam has failed, which led to more flooding. This is putting thousands of lives in danger. The efforts to recover from this natural disaster will last months, if not longer. People in that region are devastated and need as much help as possible.
