WATCH: Christian McCaffrey scores first NFL touchdown on 17-yard run

Christian McCaffrey Carolina Panthers training camp

Carolina Panthers rookie running back Christian McCaffrey, who turned heads throughout training camp, has scored his first NFL touchdown.

While it won’t go down in the official record books, being that this is an exhibition game, McCaffrey’s first score was a thing of beauty. From 17 yards out against the Tennessee Titans, he ran a counter play perfectly and turned the corner to run in the score.

McCaffrey looked a lot more explosive that incumbent starter, Jonathan Stewart, who ran for just eight yards on four carries to open the game. Before the rookie our of Stanford punched in his first score, he ripped off a 13-yard run to open the game with 30 yards and a touchdown on his first two carries.

Those who watched him regularly as a member of the Cardinal aren’t surprised to see how naturally he runs between the tackles. But perhaps for the rest of the nation this comes as a bit of a revelation.
