It didn’t take the Philadelphia Eagles too long to get on the board against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. In the team’s first possession, second-year quarterback Carson Wentz hit Torrey Smith on this beautiful 50-yard touchdown strike.

There was obviously blown coverage from Dolphins defensive backs Reshad Jones and Byron Maxwell. That much was pretty clear on replay. But this could most definitely be a sign of things to come for the Eagles.
Signed as a free agent during the spring, Smith is one year removed from leading the NFL with an average of 20.1 yards per reception. He was signed to be that deep threat the strong-armed Wentz needed in the Eagles’ rebuilt passing game.
It obviously worked wonders here.
