Texans WR Jaelen Strong appealing one-game suspension

Houston Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong is appealing the one-game suspension he received by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

It’s interesting that Strong has decided on the appeal this late in the process. He was arrested back in February of 2016 for possession of marijuana.

Strong has been working opposite DeAndre Hopkins with the Texans’ first-team during training camp and the preseason. The former Arizona State product has recorded 28 receptions for 292 yards in two NFL seasons. He figures to play a larger role with Will Fuller sidelined for an extensive period of time to injury (more on that here).

Should Strong lose said appeal, he will be suspended for Houston’s Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars
