Report: Knicks have spoken with Rajon Rondo

Rajon Rondo

The New York Knicks surprisingly drafted point guard Frank Ntilikina, but they’re also potentially interested in bringing Rajon Rondo into the mix.

In terms of pure basketball, Rondo might be a great guy to bring on board to show the rookie how it’s done. After all, this is a guy who averaged 7.8 points, 6.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game this past season, his 11th in the NBA.

The Knicks want a veteran point guard, but it reportedly won’t be Derrick Rose, who hasn’t been able to stay healthy in years.

Rondo has been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers, among other teams. In terms of environment, the Lakers would seem to be the better choice, if Rondo has one. However, if he did join the Knicks, he’d be playing with some very talented youngsters. Either way, he’s not likely to see playoff basketball unless he takes less money to join a contender.
