Sixers break franchise record for season-ticket sales ahead of 2017 NBA Draft

Joel Embiid Sixers

Philadelphia 76ers fans are super excited about what The Process has done for their favorite team. When the first pick of the 2017 NBA Draft is announced, it’s expected that Markelle Fultz out of Washington will be joining Joel Embiid and Co., creating what has the potential to become quite a talented, well-rounded starting lineup.

This news has sparked a veritable tsunami of season-ticket sales. Over 14,000 season-tickets have been sold ahead of the 2017-18 season. According to Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly, this “ranks first among all NBA teams in terms of new full-season ticket packages, and have done so for the past two seasons.”

Camerato also reports the Sixers expect to sell all their home games out.

“Fortunately we’re able to break the Sixers’ all-time record for season-ticket memberships,” Sixers chief sales and marketing officer Christopher Heck said. “That is a testament to the strong fandom that we believe not only is this a true sports town, but it’s a basketball town.”

If Ben Simmons can stay healthy, then we look forward to seeing what this young team can accomplish in the coming years. Apparently, the fans in Philadelphia agree, and they are getting seriously psyched about finally featuring enough talent to compete.

For what it’s worth, Fultz thinks that his arrival will finally portend a winning season for the Sixers, who haven’t had one since the 2004-05 season.
