Josh Jackson appeared to take shot at Markelle Fultz after trade news

Josh Jackson

Josh Jackson, like the rest of us, heard the report that Markelle Fultz is headed to Philadelphia, which traded for the No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

Like many of us, it sure appears Jackson isn’t convinced adding Fultz to the mix in Philly will mean a lick in terms of wins and losses. The likely lottery pick took to Twitter to express his take before quickly deleting his message.

Thankfully, Twitter never forgets, and Andrew Joseph was Johnny on the spot with the screen cap.

With Fultz heading to Philly to play with the Sixers, Jackson is being talked about as a potential fit at No. 2 or No. 3 for the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics. With many reports indicating the Lakers are locked in on Lonzo Ball, this means it’s a real possibility Jackson will play for the No. 1 seed in the east this past year.

No doubt that has him giddy about his future, which may have led to the ill-advised shady tweet aimed at Fultz. Of course, the simple fact that Fultz’s Washington Huskies only won nine total games last year might also have had something to do with it.

The NBA is the pettiest sport going on right now. Just look no further than the beef between Draymond Green and LeBron James as your primary example. And it appears the Association is in good hands as far as this goes even when those two are long gone. Petty insults are here to stay, people. There’s no avoiding that truth.
