Bruce Arians on terrorism in London: ‘It’s not going to scare us off’

Bruce Arians and the Cardinals must strike gold in the draft.

The Arizona Cardinals are set to take on the Los Angeles Rams at Twickenham Stadium in London this upcoming October. It’s the continuation of the NFL utilizing the United Kingdom city to help expand its brand.

There’s now a lot more to the NFL taking its regular season to this international venue. In the face of increased terrorist attacks, the United Kingdom has become a hotbed.

Last month, a terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concerts killed 22 innocent civilians. Then, this past week, a coordinated attack in London killed eight people.

Despite this, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians will not allow the terrorists to impact his way of life. The violence in the United Kingdom will not scare his team off.

“Anytime you’re apprehensive and let ISIS, or whoever it is, change the way you think or what you do, they’re winning,” Arians said, via ESPN. “We’ll go, and we’ll go and do everything we can to put on a great show.”

While attempting not to downplay the violence itself, Arians made it clear that his team will go about its normal plans.

‘If something happens, it happens, but it’s not going to scare us off,” Arians said.

This is a model the people of the UK have used since the two most-recent attacks. Over the weekend, Grande and a bunch of international music stars returned to Manchester for a benefit concert.

They were met by tens of thousands of fans cheering them on. It was a way for those impacted by terrorism to let the terrorists themselves know they have not won.

The Cardinals-Rams game is one of five games set to take place in London this upcoming season. We can be sure that security will be at an all-time high, but there’s no reason to believe that the NFL itself will change up the schedule. That’s definitely a good thing.
