Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon was admitted to Allegheny General Hospital on Monday morning and underwent surgery for suspected testicular cancer.

The Pirates had placed Taillon on the 10-day DL on Sunday after he experienced groin discomfort.
He is 2-1 with a 3.31 ERA in six starts this season.
