The New England Patriots look like they’re attempting to move forward with an environment of inclusion with the local Boston LGBT community.

The Boston-based LGBT Flag Football group announced that the Patriots will sponsor the league’s annual Gay Bowl in Boston this upcoming October.

According to SB Nation’s Outsports, the Patriots confirmed this news just recently.

The Gay Bowl was created back in 2002 as a national championship between dozens of LGBT flag football teams. The San Diego Bolts are the five-time defending champions.

Despite questions about his political leanings, Patriots owner Robert Kraft has fostered an environment of inclusion within the organization. That was taken to a whole new level when the team threw public support behind gay marriage several years back.

This will be the second time that the city of Boston has hosted the Gay Bowl.
