Yoenis Cespedes exits game with left hamstring pull

Yoenis Cespedes

It’s been a rough April for the health of the New York Mets, and it got worse on Thursday. Yoenis Cespedes hit a double against the Atlanta Braves but was in visible pain as he ran into second base. Afterwards, he was removed from the game.

The team later stated that it was a left hamstring pull.

Cespedes had already missed a weekend series against the Washington Nationals and had only returned to action on Wednesday.

Thursday started out poorly with ace Noah Syndergaard getting scratched from the start with an injury to his biceps. The absolute last thing this team needs now is another injury to anyone, especially Cespedes. New York will certainly be hoping that the injury is not as bad as it looked.
