Report: NFL team requested polygraph for Gareon Conley, who passed

Gareon Conley

Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley’s draft stock has dropped in recent days because of sexual assault charges. Conley has vehemently denied charges and now has a lie detector test to help his case. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that a team interested in picking Conley in the first round asked him to submit a polygraph test, which he passed.

The Cowboys are one of the teams to have publicly shown interest in Conley heading into the first round, so perhaps it’s them. However, it is worth noting that polygraph tests are beatable — for this reason they are not admissible in a court of law.

That being said, the NFL is not a court of law. If a team believes Conley has first-round talent and he’s at the top of their board when their pick comes around, Conley will probably be taken on Thursday night.
