Might fighting fans be treated to a superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather? According to UFC President Dana White, it’s possible but won’t be happening any time soon.

“I think it’s progressing, but it’s nowhere near being done,” White said to TMZ Sports.

He was then asked when the fight would likely occur if it were to take place, but did not budge.

“It’s not even close to being done. Not even close.”

White was also unwilling to give a percentage on the likelihood of the fight ever happening, saying, “There’s nothing. If we were close, I’d tell you we were close. We’re not, we’re not even close.”

TMZ also added that White has said that he’ll resume talks with McGregor after the fighter’s baby is born. The child has a due date in May.

McGregor is certainly confident in his abilities. He’s previously stated that he’d knock Mayweather’s head “into the bleachers,” even in a boxing ring. Preliminary talks for a potential bout began back in January, which you can read about here.
