Dallas honors Tony Romo by lighting up skyline blue

Tony Romo never won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys. His teams were not as successful as the Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman era Cowboys squads.

But he’s still widely respected in his adopted city. That much has become obvious since Romo announced his retirement from the NFL to join the CBS broadcasting booth earlier this week.

In an ultimate show of respect, the city of Dallas got together to light up its skyline blue to honor the now retired former Cowboys quarterback.

And it was amazing.

As you can see above, the Omni Hotel in Dallas flashed Romo’s No. 9 on its building.

That’s what we would call a city showing respect for what the gritty Romo did for the area during his illustrious and potentially Hall of Fame worthy career in Dallas.
