The Baltimore Ravens were able to keep nose tackle Brandon Williams from skipping out of town by signing him to a five-year contract.
The defensive lineman’s representation tweeted out the good news.

This has to be considered a huge win for Ozzie Newsome and Co. The Ravens were in danger of losing Williams, just as they lost right tackle Rick Wagner to the Detroit Lions. However, thanks to a diligent effort to show Williams how much he meant, and a nice fat pile of guaranteed money, he’s staying in Baltimore.
Originally a third-round pick out of Missouri Southern in 2013, Williams has evolved into one of the NFL’s premier nose tackles. He’s started 46 games for the Ravens the past three years, proving to be as durable as he is talented anchoring Baltimore’s 3-4 defense.
Last season, Williams tallied 51 total tackles and one sack. He will continue to be a rock for John Harbaugh’s defense — one that couldn’t afford to let him go.
