The San Francisco 49ers might not have a quarterback on the roster, but they made sure to keep one of their most-productive pass catchers.
San Francisco announced on Saturday that it has re-signed wide receiver Jeremy Kerley to a three-year contract.

The 28-year-old receiver was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise talent-stricken offense last season. Kerley recorded 64 receptions for 667 yards and three touchdowns.
He will likely be the 49ers’ top slot receiver under first-year head coach Kyle Shanahan in 2017. It’s a role similar to what we saw from Taylor Gabriel when Shanahan led the league’s top offense with the Atlanta Falcons last season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is worth $10.5 million. Not a bad move from an active 49ers team with free agency slated to get going here soon.
