Report: Steelers making ‘significant progress’ on long-term deal for Antonio Brown

NFL celebration penalties, Antonio Brown

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Antonio Brown are reportedly working hard and have made significant progress on a long-term, big money contract extension.

Obviously, getting a new deal in place before the start of the new league year would be extremely beneficial to Pittsburgh, which needs to know where it stands in regards to the salary cap heading into free agency.

It’s previously been reported that Brown could become the NFL’s highest-paid receiver over A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals, who makes $15 million per year. Obviously, Brown’s Facebook Live video snafu is a thing of the past, and the Steelers have no intention of trading him as some have suggested they should do.

Brown has been one of the NFL’s top receivers since 2013. He’s caught over 106 passes in each of the four seasons since, totaling 6,315 yards and 43 touchdowns during that stretch.
