Report: Kings ‘engaging in trade talks’ on DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins trade

The never-ending cycle of DeMarcus Cousins trade rumors has swung from the Sacramento Kings absolutely not looking to trade him back to the team looking to sell.

This isn’t all that shocking, especially because it’s recently been reported that the Orlando Magic turned down a trade offer to potentially acquire Cousins. Previously, the Phoenix Suns had been mentioned as a team interested in landing the big man.

Mercurial and as talented as they come, Cousins would be a huge get for any team competing for playoff positioning and a deep postseason run. Averaging 27.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.4 steals per game, Cousins does it all for the Kings.

However, Sacramento is in yet another season that could see the playoffs pass them by.

With a record of 24-33, they are 2.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and have gone 5-5 the past 10 games. It might be time to blow up the roster for real so they can finally build a complete team that can compete against the best in the west.
