Report: Raiders are ‘very strong candidate’ to land Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson

Running back Adrian Peterson will be a free agent heading into 2017. News headlines have been filled with various teams that could reach out to Peterson in the upcoming days.

It would appear that the Oakland Raiders are a surprise candidate to land the 31 year-old veteran running back.

The Raiders would definitely have a strong need for a running back, as they are expected to let Latavius Murray test free agency.

Peterson already said that his desire this season would be to play for an “established quarterback.” Though young, Derek Carr fits the bill just fine in this case.

The Raiders had their best season since 2002 after being defeated in the Wild Card playoffs by the Houston Texans. If they really want to sway Peterson, it sounds like they are prepared to make him a strong offer that he might just accept.

There will be much news to follow regarding Peterson’s free agency journey in the upcoming days and weeks.
