Texas A&M defensive end and the likely No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Myles Garrett is stirring up some controversy. Earlier on Friday, Garrett announced that he would not be attending the annual event in Philadelphia.
Now, a video has been released of the Texas native pretty much begging the Dallas Cowboys to trade up to the No. 1 overall pick with the Cleveland Browns in order to select him.
No, really.

Garrett specifically mentions owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett by name. He also looks at the possibility that Dallas could trade Tony Romo, who is on the block, as well as a couple draft picks for the right to acquire him.
A native of Arlington, the former Aggie grew up a Cowboys fan. This likely makes his plea more rooted in his fandom than anything else. As it is, it’s still a rather interesting comment for Garrett to make in the lead up to the 2017 NFL Draft.
For their part, the Cowboys lacked an elite pass rusher this past season. All things equal, someone of Garrett’s ilk is what the team needs to contend for a Super Bowl next season. Whether that’s even possible remains to be seen.
