Dana White shoots down Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather fight talk: ‘There is no deal’

UFC head Dana White speaks at the Republican National Convention in 2016.

Despite a report to the contrary, UFC president Dana White says no deal is in place that would facilitate a fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

There is no deal,” he told TMZ Sports.

Early on Tuesday morning, The Irish Sun cited a source close to McGregor who said he and Mayweather “have both settled on their respective fees.” The source added, “The contract hasn’t officially been signed yet because of a third-party holdup, but all the details have all been agreed on.”

The third-party holdup is none other than White, who has seemingly poo-pooed the idea all along.

It’s unclear if there is any way White would agree to let a fight between McGregor and Mayweather occur. What we do know is this is something that has been in the works as a “potential” fight for quite some time now, but it continues to be dead in the water.

In the meantime, maybe we’ll get to see McGregor hit the big stage for WrestleMania 33 this April.
