James Harden first player in NBA history with two 50-point triple-doubles in a season

James Harden

James Harden has evolved into as dangerous an offensive weapon as we’ve seen in a long time, and what he accomplished Friday night highlighted this to a T.

The Houston Rockets shooting guard torched the Philadelphia 76ers with 51 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists in a five-point victory. With his performance on Friday night, Harden became the first player in NBA history to author two 50-plus-point triple-doubles in a single season.

While Russell Westbrook has been putting up numbers we haven’t seen since Oscar Robinson averaged a triple-double in the 1961-62 season, Harden’s accomplishments this year aren’t that far behind.

Putting up an average of 29.1 points, 8.2  rebounds and 11.6 assists every game, he’s been darn near unstoppable all year long.
