Colts fans leave ‘Stop Wasting Luck’ sign at team headquarters

Indianapolis Colts fans are not exactly happy with owner Jim Irsay these days, and it’s not hard to understand why.

After a second straight season in which Irsay had a chance to fire his head coach and general manager following failed campaigns, he’s sticking with Chuck Pagano and Ryan Grigson for at least one more year. As we’ve stated more than once around here, the Colts are wasting the prime of Andrew Luck’s career in the process.

That’s exactly what some Colts fans believe to be the case, and they left a big note at the front of team facilities saying just that.

The above sign was left at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center, also known as the team’s practice facility.

Clearly, at least one fan is sick and tired of Grigson wasting draft picks on skill position players while neglecting to protect the team’s pricey investment in Luck. This is the same man, by the way, who signed Luck to a record contract this past offseason and then blamed that contract for being the reason why he couldn’t supply the roster with enough solid players at other positions (more on that here).

Irsay has a tremendous talent at quarterback. Yet his decision to stay loyal to his head coach and general manager could end up costing Luck a chance to develop into an NFL great.
