Travis Kelce fined $24k for throwing towel at official

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was ejected on Sunday after throwing a towel at a referee, and now he’s a bit lighter in the wallet because of his tantrum.

The tight end was upset about a non-call during last weekend’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He got so upset that the ref threw a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. Then he exploded, throwing his towel, earning a second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which resulted in him getting tossed (watch here).

The incident isn’t too dissimilar to what happened last year when he made an unfortunate gesture at an official.

Needless to say, Kelce could learn a thing or two about keeping his emotions in check on game days.

He’s the leading receiver for Kansas City this year with 39 catches for 435 yards and three touchdowns. The Chiefs, embroiled in a tight contest for the AFC West crown, cannot afford to see him make any more like mistakes in the coming weeks.
