Report: Jeff Fisher ‘extremely surprised’ by Eric Dickerson’s public complaints

Eric Dickerson and Jeff Fisher are not exactly on the same page these days.

The former Los Angeles Rams star running back opened up about his recent interaction with the franchise on Monday, saying he was asked to stay away from Rams’ sidelines because players felt uncomfortable about his recent criticism of the team.

The Rams immediately responded, saying Dickerson and all former Rams players were welcome to be a part of the team.

However, later in the evening Dickerson went on a radio show to further elaborate on his position, outing Fisher as the man who told him not to expect sideline passes if he was going to be critical of the team and coaches. He also said that he would never attend another Rams game as long as Fisher remained head coach.

A report on Tuesday confirmed Dickerson’s story, that Fisher told him not to expect sideline passes if he remained critical.

And now we have word from Mike Silver of NFL Media, who spoke with Fisher, that he is “extremely surprised” that Dickerson went public about all this.

Indeed, in Dickerson’s radio interview, he said the same thing, that he thanked Fisher for being up front about it all.

It is really strange how this all spiraled out of control. One wonders if something happened behind the scenes that neither Dickerson or Fisher has divulged.

Obviously, the Rams legend feels spurned by Fisher personally. It’s going to be interesting to see what develops from here. At this time, it sure hasn’t painted a pretty picture for the franchise that just moved to Los Angeles after being away for decades.
