For the fourth consecutive year, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will be hosting a huge Thanksgiving party for underprivileged kids and their families in Charlotte.

TMZ shared the pertinent details in a tweet.

The dinner itself is quite generous. But to give each kid a meal to take home, as well, is a wonderful move on the part of Newton and his foundation.

The NFL certainly has certainly had enough bad publicity over the last few years. It’s great to see any player doing something so nice for people in need during the holiday season. When the player is the reigning league MVP, it only puts the league in a better light.

As it relates to Newton himself, he already has a tremendous legacy of community work in the Charlotte area. The Cam Newton Foundation, set up during his rookie season, focuses on helping youth address their “educational, physical and social needs.”

In addition to this specific event, Newton has organized a Make-A-Wish weekend for sick children as well as a celebrity kickball tournament.

Good on you, Cam.
