WATCH: Chargers lose game after failed snap on field-goal attempt

The San Diego Chargers have been known for failing at the worst possible time the past couple of years, and they did it again in Week 5.

Down by three in Oakland against the Raiders, Philip Rivers moved the offense into field goal range with around two minutes left in the game.

Then, almost predictably, the special teams unit failed to get the snap off properly, negating the field goal attempt.

This turnover allowed the Raiders to run down the clock to just 20 seconds. After the punt, the Chargers had just enough time to attempt a desperation hook-and-ladder play, which also failed miserably with the ball trickling out of bounds.

For the fourth time this year, San Diego lost in heartbreaking fashion, which they can blame only on themselves.
