Report: Gary Kubiak on track to re-join Broncos Monday

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak is set to re-join his team Monday after a health scare sidelined him last week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Kubiak was hospitalized last Sunday after the Atlanta Falcons beat the Broncos in Denver. Initially his symptoms were described as “flu-like” but ultimately he was diagnosed with a “complex migraine.”

After being released from the hospital the next day, Kubiak removed himself from his coaching duties for Week 5 — a short week against the San Diego Chargers — and released a statement thanking everyone for their support and well-wishes.

Denver struggled mightily offensively against the Chargers, managing just 13 points. Quarterback Trevor Siemian appeared to be lost throughout the game, and the Broncos were dominated from start to finish.

Needless to say, getting Kubiak back for their upcoming Monday Night Football game in Week 7 should be a positive development. He’s the offensive mastermind behind Denver’s run-first attack (post-Peyton Manning) and will provide a calming influence when the Broncos host his old team, the Houston Texans.
