Report: Bears expect Kevin White to be out a while

Second-year wide receiver Kevin White was finally making an impact for his team prior to exiting the field late in Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions.

White, a first-round pick of the team back in 2015, recorded 12 receptions for 117 yards in less than two games.

Unfortunately for the Bears, White left the game with an ankle injury and did not return.

Now, a few days later, and the news doesn’t seem to be too good on this front.

This comes on the heels of White missing his entire rookie season after suffering a stress fracture in his tibia.

Chicago was hoping the former No. 7 overall pick would be able to take some of the load off Alshon Jeffery this season. While that appeared to be rounding into shape prior to his injury, it looks like the West Virinia product will be out for an extended period of time now.

White joins starting quarterback Jay Cutler and fellow 2015 draftee Jeremy Langford on the sideline for the injury-ravaged Bears.
