The Houston Texans are expecting big things from high-priced free-agent signing Brock Osweiler under center.
Any type of upgrade from last season’s disastrous quarterback situation would be huge for Houston. After all, here’s a team that won the AFC South with the likes of Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden starting games.
As Osweiler looks to begin his first season with Houston on a high note, it looks like he’ll be without his starting left tackle.
More on #Texans Oline: I’m told LT Duane Brown (torn quad) is not expected to be ready for the season. HOU being cautious, may remain on PUP

If Duane Brown starts the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, he’d miss at least the first six games.
That would have a major impact on Osweiler’s ability to succeed early in the season. We already know how important left tackles are in today’s NFL. And without anyone of substance behind the three-time Pro Bowler, that’s magnified even further in Houston.
