Rams expand attendance capacity for preseason opener

Returning to Los Angeles for the first time in over two decades, the Rams seem to be the talk of the town.

The team will make its long-awaited return to Southern California Saturday night when it hosts the Dallas Cowboys at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

In what can’t be considered too much of a surprise, the Rams have extended seating capacity for the game.

Rams vice president and COO Kevin Demoff expanded on the news a bit.

“We will continue to open up more seats throughout Coliseum this week to allow fans chance to attend historic game.”

The stadium itself could seat 93,000 fans for Rams games. Though, the expectation was that their capacity would stand at about 70,000 for regular season and exhibition games.

If they already have to expand said capacity for an otherwise meaningless preseason game, that bodes well for interest in the Rams product this upcoming season.

The Rams played at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 1946-1979 before moving to Angel Stadium in the decades leading to their eventual relocation to St. Louis.
