PETA offers Warren Sapp vegan lobster after shark attack

PETA, otherwise known as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is a divisive organization around the United States.

Some love what they do in helping animals overcome the cruelty they are subjected to by the human race. Others find their overall stance a bit too ridiculous.

On potentially the ridiculous side of things, PETA took time out of its busy schedule to offer up some free vegan lobster to Warren Sapp.

It’s as opportunistic as it is absurd.

Sapp, a Hall of Fame defensive tackle during his playing days with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, was hunting for some lobster off the Florida coast earlier this week.

Unfortunately for Sapp, a shark didn’t take too kindly to his hunting habits and bit the now retired NFL player.

While Sapp himself is fine after suffering a gruesome looking injury, he might not be looking to go lobstering any time soon.

Making sure to offer the former defensive tackle an alternative, PETA sent the following to Sapp.

“Dear Warren,

We heard about your interception of a defensive shark’s lobster dinner, so we wanted to pass along some delicious cruelty-free vegan lobster in the hope that it’s a winner with you and yours.

We don’t want you running back to the water until you’ve tasted it—sharks work as a team to obtain food, so unwanted competition may be awaiting you. Despite that nasty bite, it’s humans who rank as the deadliest predator of all. We hope you look after yourself, so we invite you to tackle any health problems with vegan foods and to be a champion of lobsters. All your fans at PETA are wishing you a speedy recovery.

Warm regards,

Andrew Bernstein and the PETA Team.”

We have absolutely no idea if Sapp will take PETA up on this offer. Though, we want to know how vegan lobster tastes. On second thought, no we really don’t.

Next up, tofu crab.
