Chandler Parsons: Grizzlies have one of NBA’s best starting fives

Chandler Parsons is excited about joining up with the Memphis Grizzlies this offseason and believes his new team will be a force to be reckoned with.

Really, there is no need for Parsons to get defensive on this matter. Memphis surely possesses one of the NBA’s top starting five units now that it has acquired Parsons to team up with Mike Conley and whomever is playing shooting guard in the frontcourt to complement the two big men, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.

Now, does this mean the Grizzlies will be able to keep pace with the best in the west when the playoffs roll around? That might be somewhat of a stretch. Especially considering what the Golden State Warriors did to upgrade their starting five, adding Kevin Durant.

Still, when you do some quick math you realize that, using last year’s stats, Memphis now has a starting five capable of putting up 75-plus points per night. Combined with the team’s strong bench, Memphis has done some solid work towards becoming even more competitive in the ultra-competitive Western Conference.
