Donald Trump ‘thinking about’ having Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady speak at GOP convention

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has a list of sports stars he wants to speak on his behalf at the upcoming GOP convention. Speaking to a large crowd in Virginia Friday night, he said he wants NFL superstars Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady to give speeches at the event, among others.

“We’re going to do it a little different, if it’s O.K.,” he told the crowd, per the New York Times. “I’m thinking about getting some of the great sports people who like me a lot.”

It’s well known that Brady likes Trump, and the man with the outrageous hair has also plugged Big Ben recently as “a big winner.”

Other big names Trump mentioned as potential speakers at the GOP convention included college basketball legend Bobby Knight, UFC owner Dana White and Brian France, a chief executive with NASCAR.

Trump told the crowd he wanted to feature “winners,” rather than “these people, these politicians who are going to get up and speak and speak and speak.”

Winners win, whatever the cost. So it’s only logical Trump would want to feature a guy who could be suspended four games for what the NFL has deemed cheating, right?
