Report: Chris Bosh’s season is over

Chris Bosh

The Miami Heat are going to have to move on without All-Star big man Chris Bosh for the remainder of the playoffs.

Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press is reporting that Bosh is now officially lost for the rest of the postseason due to yet another blood clot scare:

Bosh has been out since before the All-Star Break with this latest health scare. Remember, he missed the final 38 games of the 2014-15 season after a blood clot traveled to his lungs.

It had previously been reported that Bosh was pressuring the Heat to get him back on the court. In turn, the organization has rightfully decided against what would have been an incredibly risky decision. After all, Bosh nearly lost his life to the incident last year.

Up 1-0 in their Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the Toronto Raptors, the Heat have some margin for error in this one.

Though, it’s going to be incredibly hard for the team to get past the Cleveland Cavaliers without Bosh in the mix should it come to that.

At the very least, the team is thinking more about Bosh’s overall and long-term health. This tells us a story of an organization that’s willing to make the tough decision, even if it impacts the product it throws on the court.

Bosh averaged 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the field in 53 games this past regular season.
